IN SHORT

QuickCA is a WhatsApp service that connects you with a verified chartered accountant (CA) to file your income tax return (ITR). You answer a few questions in the chat and send the documents it asks for. Verified CAs then send a fee for your case, without seeing your name, number or documents. You pick one and pay only after choosing. The CA prepares your return, you approve the figures, and they file it.

Who can file through QuickCA?

Anyone filing an individual income tax return in India: salaried employees, freelancers and professionals, and people with business income.

Business and professional income is filed under the presumptive schemes, where tax is worked out on a set share of receipts instead of full books of account. Cases that need a tax audit are not taken on.

How does filing through QuickCA work?

  1. Message QuickCA on WhatsApp and say you want to file your ITR. There is no app and no account to create.
  2. Answer a few questions: your type of income, your income range, your tax regime, and any other income such as rent, a home loan, investments, shares, mutual funds or foreign income. Not sure about the regime? The old vs new regime calculator works it out from your salary.
  3. Say whether you have an income-tax portal login. If you do, your CA takes most figures straight from the portal and you send only what the portal does not hold. If you have forgotten the password, your CA helps you reset it by OTP.
  4. Send your documents in the same chat, as photos or PDFs. Each one is checked as it arrives, and a rejected one tells you why.
  5. Verified CAs see the type of work, your income range and how many documents are in. They never see your name, number or files. Each sends a fee and a short note on how they will handle your case.
  6. You pick a CA and pay. Only then do your documents open to that CA.
  7. The CA prepares your return and sends you the figures to approve. Once you approve, they file it and you get the acknowledgement (ITR-V) in the chat.
  8. E-verify the return within 30 days of filing. Your CA sends you the link.

Which documents do I need to file my ITR?

It depends on your income. These are the documents QuickCA asks for, by situation:

Your situationDocuments
EveryonePAN, AIS or Form 26AS, Aadhaar, bank statement
SalariedForm 16 from your employer
Freelancer or professionalForm 16A from clients who deducted TDS, and a list of receipts showing what came in cash and what came to the bank
BusinessA list of receipts, cash and banked; your GST return if you are GST registered
Claiming old-regime deductionsInvestment proofs (80C), rent receipts (HRA), home loan interest certificate
Sold shares, mutual funds or traded F&OThe capital gains or tax P&L statement from your broker or fund house
Foreign incomeDocuments for the foreign income

With a portal login, most of these come off the portal, and you send only what the portal does not hold.

What does ITR filing with a CA cost?

Each CA sets their own fee for your case, based on what the filing involves. Asking, sending documents and receiving quotes are free, and walking away costs nothing.

You pay only after you have seen the fees and chosen a CA. There is no subscription.

How are the CAs checked?

Every chartered accountant on QuickCA is checked against the ICAI member register before they can see a single case. Firms are checked against the GST registry. A CA's years of experience and languages are shown on their quote.

What happens to my documents and portal login?

Your documents are visible only to the CA you choose, and only while your case is open. CAs quoting on your case never see them.

Your portal login is never typed into the chat. You get a one-time secure link that works for 24 hours, the login is encrypted before it is stored, and every time it is opened is recorded. If you do not go on to file with QuickCA, a login shared early is deleted within 30 days.

Common questions

I have a salary and freelance income. Can I still file through QuickCA?

Yes. You pick your main type of income in the chat and send those documents first. Your CA then asks for the rest, and the return covers both.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Everything happens in WhatsApp, from the first message to the filed acknowledgement.

Which ITR form will my CA use?

Your CA picks the form from your income. Most salaried people with income up to ₹50 lakh file ITR-1. The guide on which ITR form to file explains the rest.

What if a document is rejected?

The message says why - usually cut off, blurred, password-protected or the wrong year. Send a replacement in the same chat. Nothing else in your case changes and you do not start over.
